Green Initiatives Fail
Some good news from Super Tuesday. Many Green initiatives failed on the ballot: Voters didn't just decide on the president or Congress yesterday. Among five major energy and environmental ballot initiatives from California to Missouri, all but one were voted down. Does that mean that apparent public support for clean energy withers away when the rubber meets the road? Not necessarily. But it does suggest that any government plans to boost clean energy have to be sharply focused, realistic, and present a clear win for voters, who are also consumers.
There's a news flash. Realistic environmentalism? That's what we need, but that'll be the day when we see it.

Obama Would Bankrupt New Coal Plants
Ah, the days before the election. A time when people start to notice what many of us already knew for months. Today, the big news is audio from a speech Obama gave in San Francisco in January, that anyone building coal plants is in trouble.
So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.
Yep. All the evidence is there, but will anyone care on Tuesday? UPDATE: Ed Driscoll has a rundown of all the video evidence.

Environmentalism At Work
It's come to this: A government report that found old-fashioned reusable nappies damage the environment more than disposables has been hushed up because ministers are embarrassed by its findings. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has instructed civil servants not to publicise the conclusions of the £50,000 nappy research project and to adopt a "defensive" stance towards its conclusions.
The report found that using washable nappies, hailed by councils throughout Britain as a key way of saving the planet, have a higher carbon footprint than their disposable equivalents unless parents adopt an extreme approach to laundering them.
To reduce the impact of cloth nappies on climate change parents would have to hang wet nappies out to dry all year round, keep them for years for use on younger children, and make sure the water in their washing machines does not exceed 60C.
There you have it. Proof positive that the environmental movement is about appearances, not about actually saving the environment. Labels: Environmentalism, The Left
Lindsey Graham Screws GOP Again
Heard on Rush this morning, more evidence that supports my theory that South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham is a Democrat Party plant. His main purpose in life seems to be making sure the Republican Party becomes a permanent minority party. Labels: Environmentalism, GOP, Lindsey Graham
Sick: Environmentalists Say Boy Scouts Killed By Global Warming
This idiotic meme that we never used to have tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts or floods before now continues to take disgusting turns as Global Warming fanatics try to make hay out of the death of four Omaha Boy Scouts. Dick Durbin, call you office. Is there room in that circle of Hell you keep going on about? Labels: Environmentalism, Global Warming, The Left
John Coleman Is On A Mission
He's going to spend the rest of his life stamping out the man-made Global Warming myth. His "manifesto," if you will, is posted on KUSI's website. Please take a few minutes and read the whole thing. The great war of the 21st century is not the War on Terror, it's a war of information. Liberty is losing that war. We need more people like John Coleman speaking to as many people as possible. Vaclav Klaus Slams Climate Alarmism
It's rather depressing that these days all the good conservatives reside in Europe. Prime example: Vaclav Klaus, the strongest voice against Al Gore and the great Global Warming con. Plus, Juan Williams proves himself to be the Pauline Kael of environmentalism. Labels: Environmentalism, Global Warming, Marxism, Vaclas Klaus
Czech President Writes Book On Radical Environmentalism
My hero, Czech President Vaclav Klaus has written a book called Blue Planet in Green Shackles that blows the lid off of the environmental movement. He is releasing an English version of the book next Wednesday with a speech at the National Press Club. In the book, Klaus writes: "The largest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy, and prosperity at the end of the 20th and at the beginning of the 21st century is no longer socialism. It is, instead, the ambitious, arrogant, unscrupulous ideology of environmentalism."
Amen. There's nothing like Czech common sense. Labels: Environmentalism, Global Warming, Socialism, Vaclas Klaus
The Catastrophic Costs Of "Going Green"
RFK Jr. Still Beats Enviro-Wacko Drum
Despite the fact that the earth is now in a cooling down phase, RFK Jr. is hell-bent on destroying America through environmental laws. He also made an interesting allegation concerning the Fairness Doctrine: Kennedy said after former President Ronald Reagan abolished the Fairness Doctrine in 1988, about 80 percent of investigative reporters lost their jobs. He said investigative reporters were the only people who "connected the dots" and discovered the environmental wrongs the government was implementing on the country. Foreign news bureaus were also discontinued, Kennedy said.
"We're supposed to be leaders of the free world but we have no clue what's going on in the free world," Kennedy said. "It's a bad thing for the world and a terrible thing for democracy." Democracy is what he hates. Anyway, I'd never heard this charge made about the elimination of the Fairness Doctrine. It's true many foreign news bureaus shut down, but that was mostly a financial decision in the MSM. As far as the investigative reporters go, anyone know anything about this?
